One Southwest Atlanta elementary school has live trees for sale - Christmas trees that is.
Melody Blount, president of Beecher Hills Foundation Inc., said the Christmas tree sale kicked off Saturday.
Blount said the fundraiser is important to the school because Beecher Hills Elementary was one of the schools slated to be closed, but stayed open due to redistricting by Atlanta Public Schools.
The Atlanta Fire Department came by the school tree lot to hose down the trees to keep them from drying out.
There are 350 trees on sale this holiday season at the school. They were brought in from a tree farm in Virginia.
Blount said they plan to continue selling the trees between noon and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25. They will also sell trees after school Monday through Friday.
Beecher Hills Elementary is located at 2257 Bollingbrook Dr. SW in Atlanta.
