FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A 2004 Saturn Ion traveling northbound on Cascade-Palmetto Highway Friday left the roadway, killing a teenager.
The car was driven by 16-year-old Chelsea Knight, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office. The teen's car rolled down an embankment and struck a tree.
Knight was the only person in the car at the time of the fatal accident, according to Fulton County police. She was from the town of Roopville in Carroll County.
The wreck happened off Cascade-Palmetto Highway at Cochran Mill Road.
The roadway was shut down for a short while as crews removed the wreckage from the scene. Lanes had reopened by 10 p.m.
The accident is under investigation.
