Cobb Parkway reopened, ramp closed after chemical spill

COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

All lanes of Cobb Parkway have been reopened after being shut down due to a chemical spill from an overturned truck on Monday.

However, the ramp from Cobb Parkway to Canton Rd. Conn. NB is closed temporarily during the mid-morning hours on Tuesday.

Just under 50,000 pounds of sodium hydroxide leaked from the Tennessee Commercial Warehouse Inc. truck.

The nearby Hometown Inn was evacuated as a precaution.

No injuries were reported.
