MARIETTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A pedestrian was hit at the intersection of Chestnut Hill Road and Powder Springs Street, according to the Marietta Police Department.
Police said pedestrian Wilder Vicente-Vicente was crossing Powder Springs Street in the crosswalk, but against the pedestrian traffic signal, when he was struck by a car.
The driver Nicholas Archer, 34, told officers that he did not see the pedestrian until impact.
Vicente-Vicente was charged with obedience to traffic control devices for crossing against the pedestrian traffic signal.
Vicente-Vicente is currently at Kennestone Hospital and is pending release.
