Oconee County woman killed while checking mail

OCONEE COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A woman was struck and killed by a car on Union Church Road in Oconee County Wednesday evening.

Lynda Kelley, 58, had crossed the road to check her mail.

When she crossed over the road to return home, she was struck by an oncoming car.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
