LITHONIA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
DeKalb County police said a 19-year-old man who's accused of shooting his 5-month-old son appeared in court on Thursday.
Keymon Jackson's bond was set for $31,000 cash or surety.
According to investigators, Jackson's 5-year-old son was shot in the leg at a home on Stoneleigh Hill Road in Lithonia on Nov. 10.
They said they believe the shooting happened while Jackson was playing with a gun while visiting a family member's home.
He left the house before police arrived, according to police reports.
The child's mother told CBS Atlanta News that the boy received a surface wound.
Jackson was charged with reckless conduct, firearm possession by a convicted felon, and tampering with evidence.
