CARROLLTON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Carrollton police said two of their officers were hit by a pickup truck early Saturday morning, and the officers are expected to be OK.
Police said two officers were on Bankhead Highway near Almon Road mapping the scene of a pedestrian crash the night before.
According to police, a pickup truck entered the barricaded area and hit the two officers.
Officer Brent Dougans was taken to Tanner Hospital in Carrollton. Officer Mario Potts was flown to the Atlanta Medical Center. Both had injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.
Carrollton police said Paul Powers, 60, was driving the pickup. They said there's no indication alcohol was a factor. Officers said Powers' windshield may have been fogged-up causing Powers not to see the officers.
The crash is still under investigation.
