A metro Atlanta woman is desperate to find her missing dog. Milo got away from a sitter three weeks ago in northeast Atlanta. It's been three weeks and owner Candice Arseneau won't stop looking for the brown lab-pitbull mix.
"This isn't just a dog, it's a child. It's your furry child with four legs that runs around and gets fur all over your clothes. It's like missing a family member," owner Candice Arseneau said.
She rescued Milo from the humane society a year ago, on the day he was going to be put down. Arseneau said he's enriched her life. Hearing he got out while with a dog-sitter broke her heart.
"The door was open just enough for him to get his nose out and I guess he bolted one way and then ran right under that fence over there," Arseneau said.
Arseneau put up signs all over Atlanta. She received a call that someone had him. They arranged a time to meet, but the woman never showed. The woman later called back saying she's keeping Milo.
"First of all, this makes me really mad. Second of all, even if this person is crazy, I want to find out whether or not for sure this person has my pet. The animal could be in imminent danger if this woman's calling and taunting and what not. What kind of danger would my dog be in?" Arseneau said.
Arseneau filed a police report in hopes they can figure out if the woman really has Milo or if she's just playing a cruel joke. She looks longingly at Milo's empty kennel, hoping he'll somehow find his way back home.
"It would be everything. It would be getting my best little furry buddy back," Arseneau said.
Another way to identify Milo is he has some white on his chest and three white toes on his back feet. He can also be identified through a microchip.
