Fire displaces 10 in DeKalb County home

Mark Melvin/CBS Atlanta- A family of ten escaped without serious injury when their home caught fire early Thursday.

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Five adults and five children are looking for a place to stay Thursday after fire damaged their DeKalb County home.

Fire crews had to shut off the power to the Bixler Circle home when they arrived at approximately 1:45 a.m., but were able to contain the flames to one room.

One adult female was taken to an area hospital to be checked out, and there were no other reported injuries.

The Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the family

Firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
