COLLEGE PARK, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
In the blink of an eye, it was all over.
Alagie Dibba was gunned down inside the BP gas station in the 5000 block of West Fayetteville Road in College Park.
Police are calling it a robbery gone wrong.
"They initially came in, put your hands up, get down and just immediately after that the gun went off, and it appears to me the gunman was startled. The gun goes off and then they run out," said Maj. Linda Burke with the College Park Police Department.
Police and emergency crews arrived on the scene quickly, but by then it was too late.
Dibba was rushed to Grady Hospital where he died. Family members said he was a good man.
"He is the kind of person who doesn't have hard feelings for anybody. Anytime you see him, before you say something to him he will smile at you first," said Sidibuia Jobe, Dibba's Uncle.
The 28-year-old took the job as a clerk so he could provide for his brothers, sisters and wife in Africa.
"Over 10 dependents, he is the one taking care of all those people with the struggle he do here. He's taking care of those people back home," said Salifu Saidy Khan, Dibba's uncle.
Investigators said the gunman and his accomplice wore distinctive clothing.
"The shooter was wearing a designer jacket or a knock off of a designer jacket and the guy that was with him was wearing a lettermen jacket like a college-type jacket," said Burke.
Police say if you know who the men are contact the College Park Police Department at 404-761-3131.
