EAST POINT, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
An East Point man received the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor from the U.S. Marine Corps. on Saturday. It's the highest honor an American citizen can receive.
Robert Cleveland, 82, is disabled and was presented with the medal at his home. He is one of the few surviving Montford Point Marines.
The Montford Point Marines were the first African-Americans to join the U.S. Marine Corp. They joined from 1942 - 1949 at Montford Point Camp in North Carolina.
