Local businessman offers jobs only if Romney wins election

ALPHARETTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

One business is ready to invest tens of thousands of dollars to train 100 new workers.

But there's a catch, and it involves the presidential election.

Frank Duffy with Duffy Realty in Alpharetta said his company is ready to spend $50,000 for 100 new real estate agents, but only if Mitt Romney wins the presidential election.

"It's about a $50,000 investment that we're willing to make on these new agents. It'll only happen if there's a Republican in the White House after Wednesday. If there's a President-Elect (Mitt) Romney, we're willing to make that investment," said Duffy.

Duffy said he'll only hire a few new agents if President Barack Obama wins re-election.

"I'm not willing to take that $50,000 out of my cash to make that investment," said Duffy. "I will hire agents piecemeal, five, six, seven, eight at a time, but I'm not going to make the investment going out on a limb to help the unemployed to help them start their life over."

Duffy said Obama created a hostile climate for small businesses but Romney has the know-how to make the struggling economy rebound. Duffy admitted his company has succeeded during Obama's presidency and these tough economic times.

CBS Atlanta News will check back with Duffy after the election to make sure he keeps his promise - if Romney wins.
