Smyrna couple found dead inside their home

SMYRNA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A Smyrna couple was found dead inside their home on Cumberland Valley Drive just after 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The couple's adult son found the victims after unsuccessfully trying to reach them.

Smyrna police said the William Whitaker, 44, and his wife Lynn Whitaker, 48, were found shot to death.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was the result of a domestic dispute.

Police said there is no danger to the community.

An autopsy is being preformed by the Cobb County Medical Examiner.
