Dearies Favors
DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
DeKalb County police arrested the man they say shot and killed a teenager early Sunday as he sat in his car.
It happened around 4:30 a.m. at the Vineyard Walk Apartments on Flat Shoals Road.
Police said Demarco Booker, 18, was found dead in a late-model Jaguar with multiple gunshot wounds.
On Monday, police arrested Dearies Favors, 20, and charged him with murder.
Police said Favors was likely a passenger in the car with Booker.
Residents in the complex were shocked, and it has some thinking twice about their normally quiet neighborhood.
Teressa Campbell was one of many residents who got up in the middle of the night to see what was going on.
"I'm scared. I'm ready to move now. I'm scared to stay in the neighborhood. I'm ready to get out of the neighborhood and move somewhere else," said Campbell.
Police have not released a motive in the shooting.
