ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Fall is here, and that means it's time for the Pace Fall Fair.
It was the 49th year for the fair at Pace Academy and organizers said it just continues to grow.
The fair had all the staples for a good fair: food, games and arts and crafts, but that wasn't the reason it's so popular. It was the unusual booths that brought most people out like karaoke, bungee jumping, even an area to make wax hand molds.
Lily Reckford wasn't afraid to dip her hand in some wax. "It felt almost weird, because it was getting harder on my skin. Getting my hand out was hard because I wanted to make sure it didn't rip, but it was cool," said Reckford.
But perhaps the coolest thing wasn't something you took off; it was something you left on. Kids lined up to get a fake cast put on their arm.
Alex Vadnais is a regular at the fair. "My daughter loves getting a cast. I don't know why it's so fascinating but she loves it," said Vadnais.
The parents may not understand it, but some of the kids said it was all part of their master plan.
"We can pretend at school like we have a broken arm so we don't have to do work," said one kid in line.
Unfortunately for him the event was put on by their school. He later admitted it probably won't work.
Outside the wax hands, casts and games, the main attraction was the haunted house.
The entire thing was put on by some of the high school students and those going through said it was pretty good.
"I thought I was going to pee my pants, to be honest," said one girl exiting the haunted house.
There's so much going on some parents turned it into an all-day thing.
"We love the fall fair. We love Pace. We love this event. We get here when it opens and stay until it closes. It's a great day," said Vadnais.
It's great for kids and parents, but also the school.
Fred Assaf is the Pace Academy Headmaster. "The partnership between parents and school is the secret to our success. Our parents club raises money through this fair, and they support the teachers and students in the classroom. It's a wonderful community fun raiser and fundraiser," said Assaf.
One a lot of people look forward to every year.
