Man barricaded himself during arrest in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

The DeKalb Fugitive Squad arrested a man wanted on a bench warrant.

Agents went to 1572 Hardee St. along with Atlanta officers to make an arrest for a failure to appear on a battery, family violence charge.

According to reports, Sammy Lee Harris, 40, refused to open the door to his apartment.

Harris eventually surrendered to officers.

His charge was upgraded to a felony because of the number of times that Harris has been charged with the offense.
