Inmate missing from Georgia Correctional Facility

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Authorities are on the search for a missing inmate from the Georgia Correctional Facility.

Ricky Burdette was convicted in 1975 of murder and aggravated assault.

Burdette was institutionalized at Clayton Transitional Center.

At the facility, inmates can leave and go to work.

Burdette was to report back to the facility on Oct. 11, 2012. He has not checked back into the facility.

He was nearing the end of his sentence, according to reports.
