ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA/CNN) -

Microsoft's discontinued "Zune" failed to offer much competition for the Apple iPod portable music player. But now the tech giant is taking on Apple's music dominance once again with a different approach.

Microsoft will roll out its all-in-one service called Xbox Music program this week.

Xbox Music will include music purchasing, like iTunes, but will also offer online radio streaming, like Pandora, and a subscription service similar to Spotify.

The service is currently available to owners of the Xbox 360 video game console.

Microsoft will expand the service to PCs, phones and tablets when Windows 8 comes out later this month.

It will eventually be available on the Apple iPhone and iPad as well.
