Mark Melvin/CBS Atlanta- Sprinklers at a northeast Atlanta Kroger store kept a storage room fire in check Thursday.
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Firefighters said the sprinkler system at the Kroger store in Atlanta's Edgewood neighborhood prevented a late night fire from spreading the to rest of the store.
Investigators were able to determine that the blaze was started by an electrical malfunction in the charger cord for a battery operated pallet jack in the loading dock area.
The employees and customers were evacuated and there were no reported injuries.
The damage was significant enough to close the 24-hour store for repairs and cleanup.
Officials told CBS Atlanta that the store reopened at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
