A man is recovering at Grady Memorial Hospital Tuesday after he told police he was shot in the leg during an early morning attempted robbery.
The victim told Atlanta police he was walking near North Avenue and Arnold Street just before 2 a.m. Tuesday when a male suspect tried to rob him, according to Capt. Adam Lee III.
The man, who police said was in his early 20s, was shot in the upper right thigh during the struggle.
Police said upon questioning, the man changed his account of the incident more than once.
He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Police have not identified the victim or released a description on any possible suspects.
