William Cormier's backyard where Dugas' body was found

WINDER, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Police have identified the body that they was found buried in a backyard in Winder on Monday.
The identification was made Friday, based on dental records. The victim, Sean Dugas, a former reporter with the Pensacola News Journal, was reported missing several weeks ago. Dugas worked for the paper from 2005 to 2010.
The identification came one day after police charged twin brothers, Christopher Cormier and William Cormier III, with the murder.
The story began to unravel on Monday, when investigators discovered the body behind a home on Sixth Avenue.
The body had been placed in a plastic container before it was encased in the cement, according to a Winder police spokesperson.
The autopsy conducted by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation revealed that Dugas suffered blunt-force trauma to the back of his head.
Investigators discovered Dugas' body after receiving a missing persons report from the police department in Pensacola, FL.
The call about Dugas' disappearance led police to William Cormier's home, where his body was found.
William Cormier said his 31-year-old twin sons told him they had recently driven back from Pensacola with a friend.
William Cormier said his sons told him that they had dropped the man off somewhere along the trip, but before they parted ways, he gave them his dog.
The twins told their father the dog died, so they buried it in their his backyard.
"I thought it was a dog," Cormier told CBS Atlanta News.
When asked if he believed his sons were connected to Dugas' death, William Cormier couldn't give a definite answer.
"You're asking a question I can't answer," he said. "This is 100 percent out of their character and I don't understand."
William Cormier said he was struggling to understand how something so terrible could have happened and how his sons could be connected to it.
"I have to believe in my heart that he died naturally and my sons panicked and did the wrong thing," William Cormier said.
Initially, police arrested the twins and charged them with concealing a body.
Christopher Cormier is in custody at the Barrow County jail and his brother is being held in Jackson. Police said the brothers were separated so they wouldn't be able to communicate with each other while incarcerated.
William Cormier said he and his sons are not monsters and that he hopes for the best, but is bracing for the worst.
"Nothing good is going to come of this," he said. "There's no way anything good can come out of this."
