FAIRBURN, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Fairburn police are investigating a death at 601 Senoia Rd. after receiving a call at 11:01 a.m. Sunday regarding a body in the woods.
According to police, a caller reported smelling an unusual odor, then stumbled upon a man's body.
Late Sunday evening, investigators arrested Anthony Bethea, 28, in connection to the homicide.
The cause of death is under investigation.
A neighbor, who didn't want to be identified, told CBS Atlanta News he's disturbed by the news of a the body being found so close to his home.
"Knowing there's a dead body right across from where you stay at, you know, just kind of sitting in the woods. That's not too fun," the man said. "If they are willing to do one person, then you're already looking at life in prison. So what's another?"
Investigators were seen searching nearby dumpsters for clues. The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has also been called in to assist.
