Justin Bieber's mom visits Better Mornings Atlanta

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Justin Bieber's mother, Pattie Mallette, visited the CBS Atlanta studio Friday morning to appear on Better Mornings Atlanta.

Mallette just released a memoir that revealed many things about her life, from before and after giving birth to one of the world's biggest stars.

That includes Mallette's struggles as a single mom and her life-long battles with abuse, addiction and even attempted suicide.

"All the pain and shame and things like that spun out of control. Take my life at age 17. OK, God if you're real and you have a purpose and plan for me, I need to see it, because this is not it," said Mallette.

Mallette's memoir, Nowhere But Up, is available now in bookstores and online.
