ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A man was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a car on Interstate 75 on Tuesday afternoon, while trying to run from a Georgia State Patrol trooper.
It happened around 3:45 p.m. near Moores Mill Road.
It began when the GSP trooper tried to make a traffic stop in the southbound lanes of the highway.
When the car being pulled over stopped, the trooper walked up to the car and smelled marijuana on the breath of the passenger.
The passenger then jumped out and ran, scaling the median wall. When he ran into the northbound lanes of the highway, he was hit by a Buick and thrown onto the windshield.
The GSP spokesman said that both the driver who hit the man and the driver of the car that was pulled over stayed at the scene.
GSP was unable to immediately identify the victim, who was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for leg injuries. His condition wasn't released.
