GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Gwinnett County police are investigating a fatal accident that happened on S.R. 316 and Hurricane Trail.
Investigators say a tractor trailer driven by Latora Barrett, 34, was headed eastbound on S.R. 316 and turned left onto Hurricane Trail on Thursday morning.
Anvir Karim, 68, was driving westbound on S.R. 316 and intended to go straight through the intersection of Hurricane Trail.
According to reports, Barrett turned left in front of the car which was unable to avoid a crash.
Karim struck the side of the trailer and became wedged underneath and had to be extricated from the car.
Karim was taken to the hospital for treatment where he later died from the injuries.
This investigation continues and charges are pending.
