Levi's Call canceled for missing 12-year-old girl

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A Levi's Call that was activated at the request of the Carteret County Sheriff's Office in North Carolina for a missing 12-year-old girl has been canceled in Georgia.

Police say there have been confirmed sightings of her in another state.

Authorities believe she was abducted around 10 p.m. Monday by Timothy Howard Newman.

Abigail Faith Lefevers is 5'4", 90 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

She was last seen wearing black Nike shoes and carrying a pink backpack with peace signs.

Newman, 38, is 5'8", 210 pounds, has brown eyes and brown hair.

Newman is believed to be traveling in red 1998 Chrysler Sebring with a black top, and North Carolina license plate AKT 6534. He was last seen driving south on Highway 17 in North Carolina.

According to police, Newman is a known sex offender and also an experienced truck driver, familiar with back roads and waterways.
