Bicyclist hit by hit-and-run driver in Cobb County

COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A man riding a bicycle was hit by a hit-and-run driver on Canton Road in Cobb County Wednesday morning.

Police said Anthony Randolph Dixon, 49, sustained major injuries and was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said around 5:30 a.m., Dixon was struck from behind by a dark compact car.

After striking him, the driver continued southbound on Canton Road.

Officers said the car should have damage to the front passenger side fender, the hood and possibly the windshield.

Dixon is listed in critical condition.
