Mountain View High School principal: Students posted threats on Facebook

Posted: Updated:
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Three students from Mountain View High School were disciplined for posting threats against the school on their Facebook pages.

Principal Keith Chaney sent a letter to parents on Tuesday as a precaution.

Chaney said the school took action after the threat was reported by parents and other students.

It was determined that the students involved did not plan on acting out what they had posted.

One of the students will face criminal charges for bringing an unassembled air soft gun to school, according to Chaney's letter.

Chaney asked that parents take a role in monitoring their child's access to technology and teach them about appropriate use.
