Georgia lawmaker's relative killed in Clayton County

CLAYTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Police in Clayton County are searching for the man who killed the relative of a Georgia lawmaker.

Investigators say someone shot 19-year-old Quinn "Kevon" Heckstall on Saturday.

It happened on Wagon Wheel Court, near Mount Zion Parkway.

Heckstall was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. He later died.

The victim is the great nephew of Georgia Representative Joe Heckstall.

Kevon graduated a military academy when he was 17 years old.

He had attended a local technical college and worked to support his way through school.

Kevon's family said he was also considering serving his country by joining the military.

Police have not identified any suspects.
