Gainesville painter wins $1 million playing lottery scratch-off

GAINESVILLE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A Gainesville painter won $1 million and $250 on different Georgia Lottery scratch-off tickets on the same day.

James Case, 51, won a $1 million top prize playing the new instant game $1 million Grand Casino.

Case also won $250 the same day from a separate Georgia Lottery play.

He claimed his big prize Tuesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

J & S Food Mart on Thompson Bridge Road in Gainesville sold the winning tickets.

The lucky winner, in addition to paying off bills, plans to pay it forward with a donation to a charity.
