COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
More than 100 members of the 94th Airlift Wing are scheduled to return here from a four-month deployment to the Middle East on Friday.
The first C-130 Hercules returned at 10:30 a.m.
"It's a sacrifice. It's hard here at home because of having to pick up the extra load while their gone, especially if you have children. But for them they are in a strange place," Tammy Mayo said after giving her husband a big kiss.
Following the arrival, Col. Timothy E. Tarchick, 94th Airlift Wing commander, will briefly address the returning Airmen.
The arrival will be attended by congressional staffers, community leaders, returning members' family and friends, and base military and civilian personnel.
