ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Rape charges against a former Georgia Tech assistant men's tennis coach were dropped, according to Paul L. Howard, Jr. District Attorney.
Conor Pollock was charged with rape and possession of cocaine and marijuana March 24. Police reports said Pollock allegedly met the woman at a bar in Buckhead.
Pollock's attorney said he has entered a drug program with Fulton County and once he completes the program, the drug charges will also be dropped.
A school spokesman said Pollock resigned from his position shortly after his arrest.
District Attorney Howard released a statement on Thursday:
"In close consultation with the victim and her family, the Fulton County District Attorney's Office determined there was insufficient evidence to move forward with a rape prosecution in this matter. There was no question, however, that the accused was in possession of drugs. As such, we will proceed with prosecution on those charges."
