MACON, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Authorities say two pilots suffered minor injuries after a corporate jet hydroplaned and crashed after landing on a runway slick with rain in Macon.
The Telegraph newspaper reports the Beech 400 jet slid on the runway, then crossed an embankment and a road before crashing in a wooded area Tuesday morning. The plane had taken off in Atlanta. It's registered to Dewberry Air LLC of Dover, Del.
Bibb County sheriff's Sgt. Sean DeFoe says the pilot had to be cut out of the plane by firefighters, but he and the co-pilot suffered only minor injuries. DeFoe says their only passenger was unharmed.
Ocmulgee East Boulevard, which the jet crossed over, was closed to traffic as the Federal Aviation Administration surveyed the wreckage.
