ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The Atlanta City Council tabled the issue on a zone change that will make way for a 150,000 square foot Walmart Supercenter near the Lindbergh MARTA Station in Buckhead.
Walmart will be part of a $90 million mixed-use development in the Lindbergh area.
If approved, the project will include 240,000 square feet of residential, 183,600 square feet of retail, 679 parking spaces and a 3-acre public park.
The residential piece will house 225 multifamily units. It will also create 600 jobs in the area.
The Atlanta City Council sent the issue back to the zoning committee where it originated.
CBS Atlanta's Tony McNary will have more on this story on CBS Atlanta News at 4 p.m.
