ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Coming this fall, Coca-Cola is providing a unique way to help those in need.
Select Coca-Cola machines in Atlanta will provide people with the option to make a donation to the American Red Cross when they purchase a Coke.
Not thirsty but still want to donate? People are able to make a contribution without a purchase by selecting the donation application on the vending screen.
"Using our existing group of interactive vending machines, this donation application gives our charity partners, like the American Red Cross, the chance to directly engage with thousands of people," says Thomas A. Barlow, senior vice president, Vending/Wholesale, Coca-Cola Refreshments. "Through this technology, we're connecting worthwhile philanthropic organizations to passionate Coca-Cola drinkers."
The vendors are in place at the following locations: Arbor Place, Discover Mills, Gwinnett Place, Lenox Square Mall, Phipps Plaza, Mall of Georgia and Town Center.
