SANDY SPRINGS, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The victim who was hit Tuesday evening in Sandy Springs by a hit-and-run driver died overnight.
Lanzhen Pan, 67, died at North Fulton Hospital of severe head trauma from the impact to the vehicle.
The accident happened about 8:11 p.m. on Roswell Road and Hightower Trail.
The suspect's vehicle is a dark colored SUV that was occupied by a woman in the front passenger seat.
According to a witness, Pan was walking south along Roswell Road and was in the process of crossing Hightower Trail when the SUV made a turn onto Hightower, striking the victim.
The SUV stopped briefly and then sped off west on Hightower Trail.
That road dead ends into the Cherokee Town and Country Club and the Huntcliff Residential Community.
