COBB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

One man was killed and another injured in a late night shooting at a Cobb County apartment complex.

Sgt. Dana Pierce said officers responded to a report of shots fired at the Parkview Apartments off Six Flags Drive in Austell just before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

According to witnesses and preliminary information from the crime scene, investigators have determined that Andre Oliver, 27, of Austell, was shot by a security guard in the parking lot after getting into a physical altercation with him.

Jacoby Adams, 19, of Austell, was also struck in the leg by a stray round.

Both Oliver and Adams were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, however Oliver died at the hospital.

Adams has since been released from the hospital and is recovering from his injury.

The security guard responsible for the shooting has not been charged and his name is not being released at this time pending an investigation.
