LAWRENCEVILLE, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Students at Georgia Gwinnett College have been asked to remain vigilant after a woman said she was attacked on the Lawrenceville campus.
GGC's Department of Public Safety posted a warning on the university's website which said the victim was sexually assaulted in B Parking Lot sometime between 11:45 p.m. Sunday and 2:45 a.m. Monday.
The woman told police she was attacked from behind and forced into her car. The suspect, described as having a muscular build and wearing white shorts, fled on foot.
Police have not made any arrests in the case.
Campus police ask that anyone who has information about the crime should call them at (678) 407-5333 or report information anonymously at the public safety website.
Georgia Gwinnett College asked students to always be aware of their surroundings and to travel in groups when possible. The university also offers students escorts from campus buildings to their cars.
