FULTON COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
The identity of the driver killed on Interstate 285 Friday afternoon has not been released pending the notification of kin according to the Fulton County medical examiner.
The driver's wife was also injured in the wreck and went into surgery. She still has not recovered well enough to be told of her husband's death.
The crash happened around 5:05 p.m. on I-285 north at Camp Creek Parkway. A 2001 Mercedes being driven by Brittany Nicholle Stevens, 23, from Atlanta struck a 2007 Kia Sportage being driven by Maria Njoku, 52, from Atlanta. The impact caused the Kia to hit the Oldsmobile which sent it spinning into the path of a tractor-trailer.
GSP said the driver of the tractor-trailer was not at fault in this crash which injured four.
The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting the follow-up investigation and charges are pending the completion of the SCRT investigation.
