Steve White/CBS Atlanta- Firefighters put out a small kitchen fire that overcame an Atlanta woman late Thursday.
ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Atlanta firefighters rescued a woman from inside her burning home late Thursday night.
Battalion Chief Kevin Roberts said the relatively minor kitchen fire at approximately 11 p.m. at the home on Highview Road was enough to overcome the woman.
Firefighters rendered aid on scene and called for an ambulance but the unidentified woman told crews she did not want to go to the hospital.
There were no other reported injuries and damage to the home was limited to the kitchen, Roberts said.
The exact cause of the fire, which remains under investigation, has not been released.
