ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Georgia State senior Christine Lu is a painting and drawing major, who was attending an art show on Memorial Drive Tuesday, when she stepped out to get in touch with a friend.
That's when four men got out of a van, attacked and robbed her.
"It was really scary, they came up behind me, pushed me down, and I was like a deer in headlights," Lu said. "I had no idea what was going on, I thought someone was just messing with me."
It turned out, it was not a joke. The suspects, four black men - possibly teenagers - made off with her black 2005 Honda Civic. And, not to mention, all of her school supplies that were in the car.
"My car is - I live in my car," Lu said. "All my stuff is in there. My school stuff ... it just sucks to think about all the stuff that was taken."
On Sunday, another carjacking happened on Glen Iris Drive.
On August 28, there was yet another carjacking on Glenwood Avenue involving a woman who was in an apartment complex parking deck when she was approached by men who demanded her purse and car.
Both the incident on Glenwood Avenue and Lu's incident involved young, black men pointing a silver pistol at victims. Atlanta police are investigating whether or not the incidents may be connected.
For now, residents in the area like Brie Woodham are trying to be as cautious as possible, without getting in the way of living their lives.
"What are you going to do? You have to go about your daily routine and pray that it doesn't happen to you," Woodman said. "Because what are you going to do? Not leave the house?"
