MARIETTA, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Cherokee County sheriff's detectives charged a Woodstock man in connection with two burglaries in the Bradshaw Farms subdivision Sept. 1.
On the morning of Sep. 6, Marietta police officers on patrol discovered a cache of guitars in cases and amplifiers on a deserted private drive near Lockheed Elementary School off of Merritt Road.
On Friday afternoon, Cherokee County detectives arrested John Hartin, 38, and charged him with two counts of burglary.
Detectives said Hartin stole household items from one house and the guitars from another house.
The stockpile of musical instruments, which consisted of 13 guitars, two amplifiers and other equipment, were found approximately 100 yards off of the main road near a wooded area.
After a thorough investigation, detectives made contact with one of the companies that made some of the recovered guitars and found the owner of the equipment.
The owner was notified, and it was discovered that the owner's house was burglarized in another county two days before the guitars were discovered.
The collection, valued at more than $100,000, was returned.
Hartin remains in custody in the Cherokee Adult Detention Center with a $22,400 bond.
