ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Two men were robbed at gunpoint as they walked along Charles Allen Drive between Eighth and Ninth streets in Midtown at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
One of the victims, Michael Davis, told CBS Atlanta News he and a friend noticed a white minivan pass them and then drop off two young men.
Atlanta police said one of the suspects was armed with a pistol.
"One guy comes out and said, 'Give me what you got. Give what you got,'" said Davis. "They pointed the gun and put it to my friend's temple, put it to my face."
Davis said he and his friend held their ground, not allowing the suspects to force them onto Ninth Street, which was much darker. The suspects then took off with the victims' cell phones. Davis' friend took off after them.
Davis said his friend caught up with one suspect.
"He tackled the guy. The guy was trying to jump over a fence. His shoe string got caught. He tackled him, then they got into a fight and he pinned him down."
The victims held the suspect until police arrived. Davis got back his cell but his friend's phone is still missing.
Police arrived moments later and arrested Antonio Allen. The second suspect got away.
Police also arrested the man they said was driving the white van, 24-year-old Shermaine Caison.
Davis told CBS Atlanta News he hopes police catch the young man who got away. But he said it wont stop him from walking in his neighborhood at night.
"I'm not concerned, tell them to come, bring it. Come on back to Midtown and try to rob somebody else. Better hope I'm not out there," said Davis.
If you know anything about the crime, you are asked to call the Atlanta Police Department.
