ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

There is a $12,000 reward for tips that lead to the arrest of the men Atlanta police believe shot and killed northwest Atlanta business owner Vanessa Elaine Thrasher.

Thrasher was shot and killed just after 2 a.m. Aug. 16. She was just days from testifying in a murder trial.

Wednesday, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard revealed that Thrasher's death was not connected to that case.

Howard said his office had offered to place Thrasher in a witness protection program after she received death threats for agreeing to testify against the men who shot and killed one of her employees last year.

Howard said Thrasher refused and was killed shortly afterwards, but Howard said the motive in her murder was robbery.

Atlanta police arrested De'Mario Carman, 23, Tuesday night in southwest Atlanta in connection with Thrasher's death.

Investigators told CBS Atlanta News that Carman is one of four men who killed Thrasher.

Police are also searching for Gerald Peterson, 23, and man known as "CJ."

Otis Ricks, 23, was captured within 24 hours of the shooting at The Hotel Magnolia on Old Dixie Highway.

Howard said all four men are members of the gang "Campbellton Road Gangsters."
