DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A DeKalb County SWAT team was called to the scene where police believed a man was held up inside a home and holding several family members hostage.

Approximately six hours later, deputies determined that the house was empty.

DeKalb sheriff's deputies arrived to attempt to serve an arrest warrant at the Hollow Tree Drive home at about 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to DeKalb County Sheriff's Office spokesman Adrion Bell.

When there was no response from inside the house, deputies suspected that the man had barricaded himself inside the home.

After a complete search, the SWAT team found the home to be empty at around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Bell said deputies were searching for Craig Tellis, 27, wanted in a homicide and armed robbery at the Walden Pond Apartments on Shell Bark Road Sunday.
