DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Partygoers testified Tuesday in the trial of a Douglas County teen beaten to death outside a party in November 2010. Tracen Franklin faces the death penalty for his role in the murder.
Bobby Tillman lost his life outside a house party that spiraled out of control. Four young men are charged with the murder, including Franklin. On the stand, juveniles who attended the fateful party.
"I was trying to break up the female fight and then I look up the hill and hear a big boom and there's a little boy fight going on and there was only one person I knew out of that crew and that was Manny," Tierany White said.
Manny is Emmanuel Boykins, who took a plea deal for his role in the Tillman beating. White testified she saw Manny and Franklin after the fight ended.
"He had his shirt off, his shirt was around his neck. He was like, he said, 'let my brother go,' and he was kind of angry so I let Manny go. I thought he (Franklin) might hurt me," White said.
Another juvenile remembers a group of people attacking one person.
"How many do you recall seeing?" asked Assistant District Attorney Bonnie Smith.
"Four or five," Dereka Parrilla said.
"And what are they doing to him?" Smith asked.
"Stomping on him, beating him, everything," Parrilla said.
Tillman's friend, Dillin Roberts, saw the attack from the beginning.
"They just kept attacking him and it looked like he was on his knees. Not standing up straight, just kind of tilted over," Roberts said.
Also on the stand Tuesday, a Douglas County EMT who was on scene. He said from the moment he saw Tillman, he was never able to breathe on his own.
