HENRY COUNTY, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -
An elderly man died in a house fire just before 3 a.m. Saturday in Henry County.
The fire broke out in the 3000 block of Clemons Road in Stockbridge.
Five of the six residents were able to escape without injury, however four were transported to an area hospital for evaluation for possible smoke inhalation.
Unfortunately, one resident, an elderly male, was unable to escape. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
"On behalf of Henry County Fire Department, our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time," said Henry County Fire Captain Sabrina Puckett.
The name of the victim was not released. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
