FLOWERY BRANCH, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

Hall County Sheriff's officials have released the name of the man who drowned in Lake Lanier on Labor Day.

Kyle Miller, 25, was swimming in the area of Van Pugh Park with some friends when he tried to swim to a nearby island, said Sgt. Steven Wilbanks. He apparently became fatigued and went under, and his friends never saw him resurface.

Initially, no one noticed that the Doraville man was missing, and as a result, rescue crews didn't make it to the lake until about one hour after Miller was last seen.

Hall County rescue divers were able to quickly find Miller's body in about 15 feet of water, about 20 yards from the shore.

Hall County investigators are still looking into the drowning.
