ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
It's one of Atlanta's busiest weekends of the year.
Thousands of people will be coming to the city for sporting events, concerts and of course DragonCon. All of it combined and you have one busy weekend with some major traffic headaches.
The busy weekend started with some college football and not with just one game at the dome. This year there's two.
Randy Watkins is an NC State fan.
"Oh, we ready man. We've been waiting on this thing for three years since they announced it. We've been waiting on it. We ready to roll," Watkins told CBS Atlanta News.
With the huge increase in traffic a lot of people decided to roll on in extra early. But don't expect the diehard fans to leave early, and not all of it's because of the game.
Les Wilson, who was tailgating Friday afternoon, said traffic would be a factor for him in the evening.
"Traffic can be a little hectic so the thought tonight is the game at 7:30 so we'll probably hang out here an extra hour or so to let it die down," Wilson said. "Hopefully that will alleviate the traffic concerns."
Football fans aren't the only people coming into town though. Just up the road there's a different kind of fan - at DragonCon.
"DragonCon is my Christmas. I live for this every year," said Rob Sosebee, a DragonCon attendee.
Sosebee's friend, Jason Sanders, told CBS Atlanta News that he was looking forward to the weekend.
"It's about having fun," Sanders said. "It's good to be kids for awhile. We get to be grown ups and dress up and love it."
Sosebee and Sanders weren't weren't afraid to show it with their matching Ghostbusters costumes. But one thing they didn't love was all the traffic they went through to get downtown.
Once downtown and all dressed up, traffic was the last thing on Sosebee's mind.
"Let's not worry about it because I'm not leaving here," he said. "Not even gonna get in my car until after Monday."
