ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Michael Parson, 42, made his first appearance inside a Fulton County courtroom, Thursday.
Parson is accused of shooting his wife, Adina Parson, eight times on April 20. It happened outside their apartment at the Residences at Morgan Falls in Sandy Springs.
Three of those bullets went into Adina's head, but she survived. She is currently at the Shepherd Center undergoing therapy. Family and friends said she has to learn how to walk and talk again.
Adina is an attorney for the Georgia Department of Public Health.
Police said initially her husband Michael was not a suspect. As their investigation unfolded he became a suspect and then fled to Texas.
A Texas highway patrolman arrested Parson during a traffic stop. Parson was brought back to Atlanta to face charges.
Police said Parson was engaged to another woman when he allegedly tried to kill his wife.
